Synopsis: Titi has been shunned by her fellow women who are all this tribe has now: all the men and boys have been taken. Once an adored and revered woman, she is now ostracized and alone; at least that is what seems to be so. Set against the backdrop of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade in coastal West Africa, Ships at a Distance examines the decision a mother made to protect her son; but was it the ultimate expression of love or an exercising parental control and domination?
